Today I went to photograph the Press preview of Yayoi Kusama at the Tate Gallery Bankside. The exhibition spans six decades of the artists work. Kusama is one of Japan’s best known living artists.

Once in a while a job comes along that is an absolute pleasure to photograph, this was one of those jobs. Taufeek Khanjar is thought to have become the oldest person (104!) to be declared a British citizen when he took part in a citizenship ceremony in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey. I went along and met this remarkable [...]

Today I got to photograph one of my heroes, David Hockney. He’s a British artist who I have admired since studying art A Level at school. We were only allowed to photograph him in front of one painting.

I went to Vietnam over the New Year period. The photographic opportunities were endless. I only took my Fuji x100 as I figured I was meant to be on holiday and would have been fretting about not missing anything if I had taken my regular gear. Here’s my faves.

I thought I’d put together a blog post of my favourite images I have taken this year. A press photographer’s job is a varied one and I have chosen the pictures because they are my favourite events I covered this year not necessarily because they represent the strongest news stories I covered during the year. I have just returned from photographing my second political conference in as many weeks. My back’s killing and my knees have suffered as a result of keeping out of sight of TV and delegates on the front row. Can’t complain though, the access to people in the public eye at these events is excellent and [...]

I photographed the 7th Annual tattoo Convention at Tobacco Dock in East London yesterday. I spent the day watching people being imprinted, pierced and coloured in by talented artists from all over the world. There was a very funny moment when I asked three young men if they minded if I photographed their stunning array [...]

I have spent the last few days at the Liberal Democrat Conference in Birmingham. Here’s a few of my favourites from the three days I was there, including a front page!

I went along to photograph The Goodwood Revival at Goodwood in West Sussex over the weekend. The revival is the world’s largest historic motor race meeting, which relieves the ‘glorious’ days of the race circuit. Competitors and enthusiasts all dress in period fashion to enhance the experience, which certainly makes it very visual. I had [...]
